I was brought in as a script doctor to completely rewrite, re-edit, and reimagine this episode. The Schmaltzy team took a stab at editing almost 2 hours of interviews to make a cohesive and entertaining narrative surrounding a couple whose first date was at an event they hosted. After being unsatisfied with several drafts, they asked me to come in and “go big” to make the story in this episode as engaging as possible.

This project was both challenging and creatively fulfilling (it sort of felt like I was given one of those blank puzzles to put together). In addition to rewriting the episode, I implemented a more engaging sound design and coached the host through some new VO to improve the overall storytelling.
